300,000,000 Years

Onward to 400,000,000 Years: Here!

Tail Barb: 44 Acid Resistance (against Digestion): 10 Swimming Fins: 33 Chemical Secretion: 6 Spikes: 85 Multicellular: 51 Bright Green Coloration: 88 Arsenic DNA: 28 No mutations rolled higher than 90, applying highest roll (Green Color) THE TIME: 300,000,000 Years BBB THE PLACE: The Open Ocean, with very chilled temps Lifeform Survival: 87% The Situation: X. Neutralis Thromalius advances to 300,000,000 years, and is pulled into the free-floating currents by some major extrasolar event. Something hit the ocean, probably another asteroid, and stirred up the bottom; X. Neutralis Thromalius is now a free-floating cell in the water instead of a bottom-feeding ground dweller. While the cells that would prey on you evolve size so as to evolve staying power, X. Neutralis Thromalius busies itself with evolving defenses against it. A tail barb on the end of the prehensile tail just gets bitten off, snapped off, or is dissolved by the toxic blood of the other cells in the ocean. An attempt at resisting digestion doesn't work when the other cells evolve stronger acid to deal with the resistance.

It's enough that the enemy cell's blood is now not only toxic, but acidic. The poison you can deal with; the acid, not so much. A change in DNA to make it arsenic-based is completely ignored by your "opponents", while when you evolve some extra cell wall spikes, the other cells just evolve a -nasty- bite that crushes through them AND you. An attempt to evolve a chemical to break down free-floating plankton goes unnoticed, while an attempt for multicelluarism doesn't seem to work; the cells don't stay "connected" and instead are on free floating "tethers", making it for easy catching / severing by opponent cells. What DOES go right is that you've evolved a bit of stealth by adopting a greenish coloration. You look like floating plankton instead of a bacteria now, and that's turning many cells away while they look for other food. Any food that DOES come within reach of you when it tries to eat the "plankton", instead gets caught by the Prehensile Tail and eaten itself. 300,000,000 years and onward! Next up, 400,000,000 years! Start suggesting some more mutations, and we'll see where it goes from here! TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE GAME! I want more suggestions and ideas! Enemy Predator Cells: * Feed on Hydrogen Peroxide (Poison immunity) * Acid Resistant * Toxic Blood * Acidic Blood * Agile, can catch you * Great Size (+Strength, +Damage, -Speed) * Cell wall-shattering bite (making Spikes useless) Danger Level: 4/10 Two new "named" predatory cells coming next post X. Neutralis Thromalius * Protective Shell (+Armor, -Speed) * Protective Coloration (+Stealth) * Poison Immunity * High "Willpower" (+Health) * Slow (due to the weight of the tail), not agile at all * Prehensile Tail used like a mace to stun (+Weight, +Damage) * Predatory (Prefers other cells to dead matter) * Moderately Large 60% to Carnivore-ism
