100,000,000 Years

Back to Year 0: Here!

Onward to 200,000,000 Years: Here!

Swimming Fins: 13 (Nope) H2O2 Release: 8 (Nope) Protective Shell: 66 (Nope) Blue Coloration: 14 (Nope) Acidic Surface: 23 (Nope) Carbon Based: 59 (Nope) Powerful Tail: 26 (Nope) No mutations rolled higher than 90, applying highest roll (Protective Shell) THE TIME: 100,000 Years BBB (Before Birth of Brains) THE PLACE: The Deepest Ocean, with bone chilling temps Lifeform Survival: 90% (This is a rough estimation of how well your species is surviving; below 50% and you have problems) The Situation: X. Neutralis Thromalius has survived for 100,000 years, feeding on carrion and the ocean floor. During this time it attempts a lot of different ways to better itself. Even feeding on the bottom of the deepest oceans, it is absolutely surrounded by predator bacteria. Some of the first things it tries to do is evolve a means of movement to get away from its enemies, but both attempting fins and a more powerful tail with which to steer are not terribly successful. The fins only serve to clumsily move it about, while the attempted tail only ends up getting in the way and slowing you down. The other bacteria evolve faster movement to compensate for this, and can run circles around you. Since X. Neutralis Thromalius is unable to evolve an effective means of escape via movement, it instead evolves a tougher cell wall... a protective shell that shields itself from the dangerous attacks of the predator cells. Once safely protected, it begins to attempt counterattacks so that it may survive. It tries several concepts, from the release of Hydrogen Peroxide as a chemical repellant to the evolution of an acidic coating on its outer cell wall. Unfortunately it seems the other predators FEED on H2O2, and the acid defense is just not strong enough to do any damage. Failing those, it attempts to focus more on the building blocks of life (Carbon and oxygen, mostly) to strengthen itself and give it so much "will to live" or resilience that it -can't- be killed easily (essentially, regeneration of missing parts of itself). While its "will to live" isn't that much to look at -yet- especially with how many predator cells seem to be still catching it, it's still surviving and feeding. The main problem right now seems to be that most of the predator cells are larger than itself. Thus ends 100,000 years. Start suggesting mutations (by tweeting to me, @DrHervisJasper) to deal with the new situation, and I'll post again tomorrow :) Previous mutations can be suggested again, so if you want fins and a tail, suggest 'em again and maybe the roll will be successful this time. Onward to 200,000 years! ********************************** Enemy Predator Cells: * Feed on Hydrogen Peroxide (Poison immunity) * Acid Resistant * Very Agile (rendering fins and tails useless for now) Danger Level: 3/10 (8+ and you're in trouble) X. Neutralis Thromalius * Protective Shell (+Armor, -Speed) * High "Willpower" (+Health) * Not very Agile
